What do I do?

I’m Akanksha, an author, a freelance writer, a part-time poet, and a full-time dentist. Hailing from the small city of Patna, Bihar, I grew up in a conventional Indian family, opted for the most expectable career choice, and became a healthcare worker.

I run a full-time dental clinic ‘The Tooth Doctors’, in Patna, with my two partners, and that has been a boon to the alternative works that I do. My debut book, ‘Sweet 16’ got published in 2021 and I’ve already completed two other manuscripts that I hope to publish soon this year.

I am trying to balance my life amongst books, poetry, trips, and patients, foreseeing becoming a doctor-writer-traveler in the coming years. I spend my days at the clinic, working a 12-hour shift to be able to sustain my expenses; and I spend my nights dwelling in the world of books to live my passion for art. 

What do I plan to do?

I wish to maintain a travel journal and I’m planning to cover one place at a time in the coming years. Plus, reading hundreds of books and writing a few is my lifetime goal!
